Whether you are planning a romantic get-away, looking for an adventure, hoping to relax at the beach or traveling on business, there are hotels to suit every need in Sri Lanka!  

In tourist areas and larger cities, you will find many luxury style hotels.  In other areas, your choices will usually be smaller hotels and bed & breakfasts which offer their own unique charm and give you a chance to experience more of the local culture.

Hotel prices generally are quoted net of tax and service charge (which combined can add about 25% to the rate that you are charged).  Most hotels accept credit cards, however in smaller hotels, you may want to ask what form of payment they accept before you arrive.

Sometimes, prices may be quoted in US Dollars (rather than Sri Lankan Rupees) and converted to Sri Lankan Rupees upon check-out.

If you are a couple and would like a room with one large bed instead of two twin beds, be sure to request this when making your reservation.   Most hotels will be able to accommodate your request, but as some rooms only have twin beds, it is best to make your request know as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

You will find the staff in most hotels to be very friendly and professional.

If you are traveling by car, most hotels have free parking for your vehicle and, if you have a driver, most larger hotels offer complimentary accommodation for your driver.
