Kelaniya, which is located just a short distance from Colombo, is a special place for Sri Lankan Buddhists.

It is believed that Buddah visited Kelaniya centuries ago to settle a quarrel between rival leaders and the beautiful temple located in Kelaniya is believed to contain the throne which was the cause of this argument.
