Volunteers of America of Los Angeles is planning to sponsor a nursery school in the Ampara area of Sri Lanka.  

This school will offer a caring and loving environment that will be very helpful to the children of families in the surrounding neighborhood - allowing the children to learn and play with friends, rather than dwell on their bad memories of the tsunami.

As a result of our sponsorship, their will be no cost to the families to have their children attend our nursery school.

At this time, final arrangements are being made with a locally operating charitable organization that will coordinate the construction and operation of the school.  We are hopeful that a site will be selected and construction will begin shortly ... resulting in classes beginning as soon as possible later this year.
