The Volunteers of America of Los Angeles Nursery School opened in late May 2005. This school is located on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka and is helping 46 children and their families move beyond the tragedy of the destruction caused by the tsunami.

We wish to thank Shiva Charity, Room to Read and SWOAD for collaborating on this project and making this school a reality!  We have made a long-term commitment to provide operating funds to this school in an effort to assure that this school will be able to provide greatly needed childcare services to children and families in this tsunami affected area for many years to come.
