Fighting has intensified in the eastern and northern regions of Sri Lanka which makes relief work much more difficult for those agencies providing assistance in these areas.  As we strive to help those in need throughout tsunami affected areas and wish to help those in all geographic areas, to complement our ongoing sponsorship of two children in the southern area of Sri Lanka, we have decided to sponsor another boy and girl from the Batticaloa area on the east coast.  This sponsorship is through Surangani Voluntary Services, which has been providing educational services to needy families in underserved areas of Sri Lanka for many years.  This sponsorship will help pay for basic living expenses, as well as provide savings for the children once they get older.

Photos of these children, as well as an update on the progress of our micro-credit program in Sri Lanka, will be posted in the next month.
